Super Bowl Recipes

Good Morning!  Have you kept up with the NFL football games?  I'm not much into pro football, but we usually have the games on as we are doing things around the house.  And it's been forever since I've been to a Super Bowl party, but we do watch the game and I usually like to make some party type foods.  This year it's back in Houston, which is exciting for us and great for our city!  So today I rounded up a few of my favorite party appetizers.  These are all recipes I have made and taste tested.  For full recipes, you can click the links below each picture.

I personally, love the Ham and Swiss sandwiches and the Greek dip!  Both of these are so yummy and really easy!

Have a wonderful day!

January Home Finds

Hey there!  There is no question that I'm a lover a white and neutrals year round, but something about January that makes me especially fond of them.  I think it's the fresh start of the new year that I relate to the fresh, clean, crisp feeling they bring.  I love using white in layers and textures to add a cozy feel to a space.  So above I gathered a few of my favorite winter whites and neutrals for the home that are budget friendly.

And ya'll, I've already ordered me a pair these striped 20x20 pillow covers in the gray because they are only $5.99!  I actually bought a similar version from H&M a couple of years ago (see pic below) in charcoal with a thinner stripe and they are still on my couch today.  I have swapped them out, but they are back for now as you can see below.

And I also ordered this rug/runner for $25!  I need something for my kitchen and I love not only the price, but the fact that it's machine washable and has a non-slip backing.  I always struggle with a kitchen runner, because it has to be machine washable for us...we are way too messy in there  :)  Anxious to get it!  It's also a possibility for my laundry room too, if I don't like it in the kitchen.  And if I do like it, I might order another one as back up when the first one is worn out since the price is so good.

As much as I'm not a fan of cold weather, I hope to enjoy the rest of winter a bit more by cozying up with some of these white and neutral home accessories.

Have a great day!

Back To Running | Workout Gear

Happy Friday!  It felt so great to get back to my running routine this week!  I ran sporadically over the holidays, but I was definitely off my normal routine.  This week I got back on track with both exercise and eating and I feel so much better!  However, today I'm skipping because we are staying in the low 30's feels like 20's today.  I can run in August here when it's 100, but I cannot do the cold runs.  That burn in my throat and constant runny nose while I'm running is no fun.

I also wanted to share a few of my favorite running/workout items.  Santa brought me some new running shoes over the holidays and I love them!  My last two pair have been Brooks and once you run in those it's hard to run in anything else.  But my son got a pair of the Nike Zoom Pegasus for Christmas and I really liked the look of them, so I checked them out for women and they had great reviews.  After trying them on at a local store for fit, I immediately came home and ordered the color I wanted.  The amount of time I spend on finding the right running shoe is really pretty ridiculous.  But I ran in them this week and so far really like them.  The fit is true to size for me and I'm wearing my normal tennis shoe size.  And just FYI, this Nike Zoom Pegasus 33 color combo is currently on sale.

Another favorite of my is this Patagonia jacket.  Most of my clothing is reasonably priced, but I do splurge on pieces, like this jacket, that I know is a staple that I'll have for many years.  I love the slim, sleek fit.  True to size for me too...just for sizing reference, I ordered a small and still enough room under it for light warm clothing, without being too bulky.  I'm sure it will get lots of use this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the start of 2017!!  I have truly enjoyed the break.  My husband decided to take off the whole week in between Christmas and New Year, so I decided to leave my blogging until everyone was back to work and school too...which is today.  So before jumping into a bunch of new projects, I thought it would be fun to look back on my 2016 posts and share a few reader favorites.  So let's get to it...

January 2016

Last January started off a bit crazy as we sold our home and had to be out by December 28.  So we celebrated Christmas there and then quickly packed it up and moved into a rental.  It was such a crazy few months, but we survived and couldn't be happier with our decision.  You can read more about what started the move process here.

February 2016

A Super Bowl favorite are these Ham and Swiss Sweet Roll Sandwiches with Poppy Seed Glaze.

March 2016

For Spring Break we took a much need trip to Santa Fe for a little culture and skiing.

April 2016

In April I joined several of my favorite bloggers for a One Room Spring Tour Hop and shared our outdoor space from our previous home.

May 2016

We moved into our new home!  This was the definitely the highlight of the year for us.  You can read about our roller coaster house hunt here.

June 2016

Not a lot happened in June, as we were just enjoying school being out and the start of summer break!  I did do a little baking and shared this Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin Recipe.

July 2016

It only took 3 months after we moved in, but in July I finally shared the BEFORE pictures of our new home.  It's amazing how much it's already changed in 8 months.

August 2016

Our last summer hurrah was our trip to 30A!  This was our third year to go and we just love it there.  It was a great way to end the summer.

September 2016

I finally got one room organized and photographed.  Our study/piano room.

October 2016

I shared a mini Fall Home Tour.

November 2016

Our family room progress and my new Minted artwork.

December 2016

One of my favorite post of the year was my Christmas home tour!

Another project I also created for my blog in 2016 was The Style Market.  It's located on the top of my blog under the "SHOP" tab and it is my online home and fashion shop.  A place where you can shop the décor in my home and fashion from my closet, or items that are on my wishlist.  I hope it's helpful to you.  I know a lot of times I read blogs and find something I would like for my home and having the source is so helpful.

And that's a wrap on 2016!  Thanks so much for following along throughout the year.  We have lots of projects planned for our new home and I can't wait to share those with you all.
