Yay for the weekend and cooler temps heading our way!  Now that school is in full swing, football has started and Labor Day is over, I'm finally getting into Fall a bit.  So I rounded up a few of my Fall fashion favorites. 

 

Does that sweater look familiar?  Yep, it's the same one I'm wearing in my profile picture.  I bought it last year and it's back again this season.  It's super soft, lightweight, comes in three colors and on sale for $23.  The riding boots are 33% off as well.  I ordered the boots during the anniversary sale this year and really like them!  And although it's not on sale, I love that plaid cosmetic case.  Love the plum and navy color combo so much!! 

 

There are a couple of other deals that are not pictured here that I wanted to tell you about.  First is this purse.  I got the Cognac color and you can wear it either crossbody or remove the strap and use it as a wristlet.  And the chain color on the cognac one is gold, not silver as it appears in the picture.  I was on the fence about buying it because of that, but was happy to see that it was actually gold, not silver when it arrived.  I bought mine over the summer and I've used it so much already.  And finally you guys, if you don't have this dress...get it!  Seriously my favorite dress!  I've worn it so much this summer and plan to transition it into Fall with booties and scarf.  And as the temps continue to drop I'll add a jacket.  It's $48 and a very flattering fit.  It comes in eight colors and I have it in the black and pink.  Love it!

Summery Fall

 

Hi there!  Can you believe it is September and almost time to start thinking about pumpkins and sweaters?  I feel like the Tuesday after Labor Day Weekend is my green light to bust out the Fall décor.  So I usually don't do much before then, especially with the temps here being so hot yet.  But I did want to add a little transitional decor to our home...

 

 

 

 

With peach season upon us, I thought a few of those along with some Fallish colored flowers, would create the perfect transition from summer to fall.  I love the color of these snap dragons!  The beautiful color goes perfectly with the peaches.  

 

 

 

So I'm calling this my summery -fall décor.  But after this weekend, it is full on Fall Y'all!

Lettuce Wrap Tacos

There's no doubt that I love Mexican food!  My kids love it too and it's usually their first pick when we are discussing which restaurant we want to eat at.  I wonder if it's because they bring you food right away...chips and salsa the minute you sit down...so, so good :) 

Mexican food is a regular for our home dinner time meals too.  Over the years, I've modified our taco recipe a bit and I love these lettuce wrap, ground turkey tacos.  Cutting out the tortillas and substituting the ground beef for ground turkey make this version a little bit healthier.

Lettuce Wrap Tacos

Ingredients

1 pound of lean ground turkey
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 head of iceberg lettuce (or lettuce of your choice)

Method

Season ground turkey with salt and pepper and then brown until cooked. 
Add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup of water.
Simmer for a few minutes.
Wash and prepare lettuce.
Place meat mixture on top of lettuce.
Add toppings of your choice, depending on how healthy you choose to make these (here are some we like):

• pico de gallo (premade or chopped tomatoes, onion, serrano peppers, cilantro, lime juice)
• shredded Mexican cheese
• guacamole
• sour cream

Serve with:

• refried, black or charro beans
• Spanish rice
