Thanksgiving Table Inspiration

Can you believe we are now less than two weeks from Thanksgiving Day?  I know I keep saying it, but these weeks are flying by.  Trying to soak it all in and not get too crazy with commitments, so I can enjoy it all too.

So, are you hosting Thanksgiving?  We are hosting my husband's side, so I need to get on it!  It's going to be a little tricky this year.  Even though it's my favorite holiday and birthday month, I still like to give Thanksgiving it's turn and not décorate until after.  But usually the next day or the weekend after my Christmas décor is up!  This year I have a couple of blog commitments for Christmas home tours, so I might be decking the halls next week.  But in the mean time, I thought I would share a few of my Thanksgiving tablescapes I've done in the past...

Interesting to look back at this last table as it was a few months after I first started blogging.  My pictures are not that great but it's still a nice simple table if that's your style.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My Favorite Thanksgiving Dessert Recipes

Happy November!  Wow, this year...where has it gone?!  It's been a great year and I'm really looking forward to the holiday season.  I love November and Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays.  Among all the day to day craziness, it's sometimes easy to forget how blessed we are.  I love that Thanksgiving and the month of November helps remind me about all the I have to be grateful for.

Keeping all my blessings in mind, I also love traditional Thanksgiving dishes!  I hosted my family for the first time last year and plan to host my husband's side this year, but usually if I'm attending I love bringing a dessert!  So today I thought I would share a few of my favorites.  And I noticed a couple of common ingredients in these recipes...cream cheese and pecans...they all have one of these and some have both.  Yum!!

First up and probably my favorite of these five recipes is this pumpkin roll.  Complete with gooey cream cheese filling and covered with pecans.  It is really so amazing!  It's a bit of a messy recipe, but still really easy and the results are worth the mess!  It has actually be repined over 1000 times on Pinterest!

If you're looking for easy, these salted chocolate pecan bars are it.  Supper easy and so, so good!

You may already know that my most favorite cookies are peanut butter blossoms.  I turned them into spiders for Halloween, and now this recipe is similar, but switched up a bit with cheesecake pudding and pumpkin spice Hershey kisses (which are seasonal).

These are very similar to the salted chocolate pecan bars above.  This was my original recipe and then last year I added the salt and chocolate.  So again super easy and they remind me of a mini pecan pie.

This was a new recipe I tried last year and it's a keeper.  Shortbread crust, cream cheese in the middle and a pecan layer on top makes for delicious combination.

What are some of your favorite Thanksgiving foods?

Have a great day!

Favorite Fall Outfit and Nordstrom's Fall Sale

gingham shirt and similar | scarf | pufferjeans and similar | booties (almost 700 positive reviews on these) and similar

Hey there!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  We had a yucky, rainy day on Saturday, but it cleared out and left us with gorgeous Fall weather both yesterday and today.  It was nice to finally pull out some of my Fall pieces and wear them without sweating :)  This outfit above is one of my favorites!

Did you happen to check out Nordstrom's Fall Sale?  40 % off lots of cute items.  I finally had a little time last night after we got our very tired kiddos tucked in bed, to browse their sale.  Below are a few pieces that caught my eye.

Seems like everything I liked that was on sale was either boots, jackets or sporty/lounge wear.  I did pick up a couple of things for myself including this striped scoop neck pullover for $20.  Love that it covers in the back and it looks really comfy.  And this cowl neck tunic on sale for $39.  Again looks so comfy, but still put together.

I also wanted to mention that I have the tall riding boots and actually wore them for the first time on Saturday to the UT football game.  And I have to say, with all the walking you do at a college football game (parking, tailgating, up the ramp, to your seats and then repeat after the game)  they were so, so comfortable.  So if you're looking for a new pair of riding boots I highly recommend them.

And last, but not least this little black dress.  I've shared before that I love it's flattering fit, and now it's on sale for the first time ever for $28.  Lots of sizes sold out, but I saw that small was still available.  I have a small in the this dress and I'm 5'5" and normally wear a size 4 -6.  And here it is full price for $48 in five other colors.  I bought mine a few months ago and it wasn't on sale.  But I loved it so much that I bought a second one in pink.  It packs so well too.

Prices good until November 15th!  And what I love so much about Nordstrom is their free shipping and returns all the time on everything.  I don't like to pay shipping and especially on a return.  Happy Shopping!
