Our back patio doors had no window coverings for awhile after we moved in, mainly because I wasn't sure what to do with them. We thought just leaving them open would be fine, but with neighbors behind us in close proximity we needed some privacy. After much discussion and not wanting to spend a lot, we finally decided on some simple bamboo shades from Home Depot and we have been really happy with the look and functionality. The majority of the rest of the windows in our home have shutters, which are really nice; however, there are a couple of rooms that I would like to one day put up some drapes. Our dining room being one of those rooms.

DeleteIt’s a great accent, Becky! :D It adds a tinge of nativity to your modern abode. And I find the contrast interesting. I think it’s a smart choice, considering the design and environmental aesthetics. It is unique and delicate, but it makes a strong element of design. And it is the very definition of eco-friendly. It isn’t just energy-efficient, but also made from natural materials.
ReplyDeleteOh, those bamboo shades are just lovely! Sometimes, you really don’t need the most sophisticated window treatment in town. A simple, practical, and functional treatment can already cover most of our necessities, just like these bamboo shades! =]
ReplyDeleteShutters are perfect if you don't want to spend a lot for your windows. You'll just have to buy a shutter that matches the color of your wall and you’re good to go. What's better is that it's also easier to clean than any other type of window covers, so it's a basically hang-and-forget-about type of shutter.
ReplyDeleteThey are simply the best window treatments. So many people underestimate how choosing the right window treatment impacts their home decor. Thanks for posting this, very helpful!
