United Tastes: fourth of july treats

 

 

Celebrate the fourth with a festive dessert that will stand out at your patriotic celebration.  I made this red, white and blue cake in honor of July 4th!  I used a basic box cake recipe and a 6 inch pan to make 3 layers adding a layer of whipped icing in between each cake layer.  I finished it off with blue gumballs around the base and red starts.

 

 

 Or you could enjoy these yummy s'mores treats if you need a quick, simple dessert.  I served them on red, white and blue paper goods to add a patriotic touch.
