store crush {high fashion home}

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a great weekend!  This was our first summer weekend and it was pretty low key for us, which was a nice break.

Not sure where I've been, but my neighbor recently introduced me to this amazing home décor store called High Fashion Home.  They are a local store here in Houston, but they also have online shopping.  They have a mix of exclusive furniture, fabrics, clothing, gifts, and accessories.  The pictures above are just a sample of some of their room ideas.  Their motto is:   when it comes to designing your home, you need to follow only one rule - buy what you love!  I love this!  And I usually follow that rule when I'm buying for our home.

If you're in the Houston area...have you been?  Or, are you like me and just discovering this amazing store for the first time :)

Enjoy your day!

friday favorites {five things}

1.  Love this adorable woven zig zap throw that is on sale for $18!
2.  Just bought me a pair of these cut off shorts in a distressed blue and they are so comfortable.  Would it look bad to wear them everyday this summer :) ?
3.  I adore these brass animals ~ they are so chic and affordable!
4.  Picked up a pair of these sandals.  So far here's my review:  cuteness = 9, comfort = 9 and wearablity = 9.  Loving them!
5.  Really, really enjoy rue daily.  Packed with great ideas and inspiration galore!

happy summer

Good Morning!  We are now hours away from summer break!  Lyla finished her preschool classes a couple of weeks ago, and today is Preston's last day of first grade :)  So because today will officially start our summer, I decided to surprise the kids with a special treat.  I used this recipe, but instead of strawberries to decorate it, I used these bright colored gumballs!  Both P & L had a great school year and we are now ready to celebrate summer time!!  I love the thought of the whole summer laid out in front of us to do as we please.

And here's a look back at how we started the 2012-2013 school year:
