With the kids back in school, football in full swing, and slightly cooler temps this week, I finally decided to work on my fall decor. I played around with my dining table center piece for awhile adding and changing it around, but then ended up going with this very simple arrangement.
We had an extra plank of reclaimed wood left over from our dining room table project, which set the theme for my fall table. I love how distressed it is with all the old nail holes, etc. When we where picking out the lumber for our dining table, we tried to look for pieces that had lots of character. My husband cut it to fit the center of my table and I used it as my center runner. I added a burlap table runner under the plank and then added this rustic wire basket with a burlap liner to continue my rustic fall theme. Megan @ Honey We're Home inspired me with her beautiful fall tablescape using this same basket filled with pumpkins and apples. I decided for my basket I would add a few leaves that my daughter collected from outside, and then finished it off with the orange "happy fall" tag.
So that's my simple early fall table decor. I'm looking forward to adding to it later on for Thanksgiving. Have you started decorating for fall yet?
Here are some of my other Fall projects:
Gorgeous. I love the idea of the wood runner, how fun and so genius. The pairing of the rustic with the crystal candlesticks is fabulous. Very well done. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty centerpiece. I especially like the little tag you added to the basket and the burlap lining. I love using old wood planks on my tablerunner too. I used one at Christmas and it adds just the right touch of 'rustic' to all the fancy glass and ornaments.
ReplyDeleteSimple is often the best way to decorate!! It all looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi! I found your blog on the Naptime Review Hop. I love this idea with the basket. My sons and I just went on a "treasure hunt" through the woods last weekend and we collected some really great pine cones. I think I will add them to my own basket and they will be so happy that I used their treasures! Thanks for the idea!
