Spring Dresses Under $50

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We spent ours at the baseball fields both enjoying the games and the weather.  We have had some pretty warm weather lately which has me thinking about Spring.  So with that in mind, I rounded up a few cute warm weather dresses that are all under $50!

I love that you can throw on a cute cardigan or blue jean jacket over any of these dresses as we transition into the season.  Which is your favorite?  Have a great day!

February at Home

How are we one week away from March 1st??  Before we know it, it will be Spring Break quickly followed by Easter and then bam...April!  I know already with buying a new house, this year is going to fly by.  My magazine collection finally made it's way to my new (temporary) address and I've be flipping through a few of my favorite home décor ones for inspiration.  I'm so ready to decorate our home again and I love this calm, soft color palette.  If you're looking to freshen up your space, above are a few accessories that caught my eye.

Have a great day!

Taking On A Fixer Upper

Hi there!  As many of you know we are looking for a new house with 2 main goals...a smaller school and more land.  We had been focusing hard in one particular area for months, but then a couple of weeks ago opened up our search field to a new area and we are really feeling good about it.  Our realtor mentioned it after no luck with the first area, so we decided to go and see a few houses.  This move is definitely a change for us after living in a very manicured master planned community for the last 16 years.  But we both have small town roots and this new area still has that small town feel with more of the city conveniences we have come accustom to.  We have a strong potential that I'm meeting with our realtor today about after I tour the school.  It's an older ranch style home on 5 acres nestled among beautiful mature trees.  It's needs up dating, but it's a home and property that has been well cared for and it's had the same owners since it was built.  We are really picky and the decision to buy this home has been discussed down to every single brick.  I have over analyze every little detail about the home, and I have been searching the web for inspiration to bring this potential 70's ranch home up to date.  Thank goodness the homes from Fixer Upper provide lots of ideas.  Let's take a peek...

The Brick House

The inside of the home doesn't scare me as much because we have done lots of home improvement DIYs already, but getting the exterior looking good is a little more stressful.  I'm really big on curb appeal, so getting the outside of the home right is a big one for me.  I picked these three because the one we are considering is a brick home that I would probably paint white.  I have always loved a white painted brick home so that's exciting!  Seeing these drab homes brought back to life and bursting with curb appeal reassures me that getting the land and location right is number one.  We can make the house look good, but we can't buy all the mature trees.

Ham and Swiss Sweet Roll Sandwiches with Poppy Seed Glaze

Good Morning!   I hope you all had a nice weekend!  We did a little house hunting and lots of house thinking this weekend, and then finished it up with some yummy food while watching the Super Bowl.  I had planned to share this recipe last week, but the days just got away from me and I never got around to making these.  But I did make them yesterday and snapped a few pictures before we quickly ate every single one!  Really easy and great for a get together.

Ham and Swiss Sweet Roll Sandwiches with Glaze

Ingredients
  • 12 Kings Savory Butter Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1/2 pound of shaved honey ham
  • 12 slices of thin Swiss cheese
  • 3/4 stick of butter
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried onions
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
Method
  1. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half and place in baking dish.
  2. Spread ham over the rolls, then layer with Swiss cheese on top.
  3. Place the other halves of the rolls on top and set aside.
  4. In a small sauce pan, combine butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dried onions, poppy seed and brown sugar and heat over medium heat until butter melts and it creates a sauce.  (I microwaved mine for 2.5 minutes)
  5. Pour equal parts of the sauce over top of the rolls.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 3 hours (or overnight.)
  7. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees, and bake for 20 minutes.  Uncover and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until cheese melts.  Serve warm.

I have also made these using Pillsbury pizza dough instead of the rolls.  You place the ham and cheese inside the dough, roll it together, and then slice it into a pinwheel type sandwich.  That way is good too, but these butter sweet rolls are amazing and definitely my favorite way to make these.  They are sure to be a hit at your next gathering!  Hope you enjoy.

Heart Day Treats

Hey there!  I always get a little something for my kiddos for Valentine's Day and usually make a sweet treat.  So because we are now ten days away from the holiday, I thought I would share some of the treats I've made in the past.  Nothing too complicated, but a little something special.  You can click the link below each photo for a full post on these.  And of course my favorite are the Dove Peanut Butter Blossoms!  Such a delicious cookie and especially yummy with the Dove candy.  So, so good!!

Do you all have plans for the Super Bowl?  We are headed to look at a few properties tomorrow and also this weekend, but we plan to watch and make some yummy food (my favorite part :)  I have a recipe I made over the holidays that I plan to make again this weekend and hopefully share with you all next week.

Have a wonderful day!

Valentine's Day Gifts | For Him

Happy February!  First off, thanks for all the very sweet comments on my IG post yesterday regarding our house hunt.  It's definitely been a bit of a bumpy road, but we are moving on and staying positive something will come our way.

Anyways, moving on to some fun Valentine's Day gifts for the guys.  We have a Bluetooth speaker (not this exact one) and we love it!  It's perfect for outdoor occasions.  We used ours so much last summer and it's amazing the quality of sound it puts out.  Love the pullover and I think the "Hey Handsome" toiletry bag is so fun.  My husband's gift is one of these and then I'm saving another for our Anniversary that's coming up.  Hope you find something for your guy too.

Have a wonderful day!
