Our Kitchen Reveal | ORC Guest

It is finally time to wrap up this One Room Challenge and show you our kitchen reveal.  I am so excited to finally have this space finished!  It's definitely the most used space in our home both on a daily basis and also our hangout spot when we have guest over.  Having it updated feels so great.

Again if you want to catch up on where this room started and how it evolved, you can find all the details here: Week One,  Week Two, Week Three, Week Four and Week Five.  But those posts are all messy behind the scenes pictures, so let's jump into pictures of the pretty finished space.

So many things I love in here now.  Not only the new bright, white cabinets and clean, crisp backsplash but really so excited about my new counter stools and light fixture.  They are the finishing touches this space needed.

The only other item I was really hoping to get done before this reveal was to switch out the faucet.  My husband was out of town for a few days this week and we just ran short on time to do that task and still have time for me to photograph.  It's an easy update and it doesn't take away from the main makeover of this space.

As you can tell from the picture above, I am really into the look of the Roman Shades.  I used bamboo style shades against our back windows and then went with this simple grosgrain ribbon cordless shade above our kitchen sink.

Continuing to bring in touches of blues, I also picked up these navy throw pillows for our sofa.

And finally below a before picture so you can see how far this space has come.

And After...

So funny that there used to be a time when I just could not see passed an outdated space.  But now I walk in and immediately my wheels start turning.  And I think really sticking with a timeless, classic design in this kitchen really keeps it true to the style of the home.

Thanks so much for following along.  Maybe I'll make this a twice a year project and sign up again in the Fall.  Especially since we have so many makeovers we want to tackle in this home.

  1. Stunning kitchen! I love everything about it down to those adorable counter stools and the gorgeous light fixture! You really accomplished a ton of work. I did the ORC a couple years ago and am still recovering... Great job!

  9. Becky I absolutely love all the changes you made! The white cabs was obviously the biggest difference but your new bar stools and light are gorgeous. I'm a huge fan of roman shades too, and love your grosgrain ribbon one as well as the bamboo shades. You did an amazing job with this space!
